They'd just have a different marketing scheme.Īt any rate, several developers have announce their support or lack there of. If it disappeared tomorrow, all those devices and all those apps would still be out there. The app store didn't invent the internet. All taken care of.īut I guess there's always something to complain about. Now you can push a button and reach 1.5 billion active devices world wide just like that. If anything the App store kickstarted a whole new economy. I come from a time where you had to find a publisher. And a big reason why I love the App store.Īlso, before the App store you'd have about 0% chance as a small developer to make any money at all (yes, there are exceptions). Which is sadly pretty accurate a lot of the time. Name one successful app company that sells iphone/android apps without paying apple / google. I have no idea how you tied Uber in there. Gamestop exists because millions of people don't get their games from the xbox/sony marketplace. I KNOW you know artists who refuse to put their stuff on spotify etc. I know you know of successful companies that don't sell their stuff on ebay or amazon. And even the ones who owe their success to those markets had other realistic alternatives to reach their goals. that have launched and sold a successful product etc. You can probably think of a thousand artists, manufacturers, developers, etc. Amazon, Ebay, Uber, Playstation, Xbox, Spotify (as an artist), etc. Either you give up privacy (and pay the price) or you pay directly. Almost every other regulated platform works more or less the same way though. I wasn't talking about the classic OS flavors in this context.
The plugins will now be present in Live's Plug-Ins area. You're right. ***Note that Ableton Live 10+ only supports 64-bit meaning the plug-in path should be set to where this content is located and not the path for 32-bit plug-ins***
Make sure that the VST Plug-In Custom Folder is set to the same file path where you installed the Plug Ins, C:\Program Files(x86)\VSTPlugins or C:\Program Files\VST Plugins (depending on if you're using 32/64 bit versions). Make sure 'Use VST Plug-In Custom Folder' is set to On. In Ableton Live, now go to Options > Preferences > Plug-Ins > Plug-In Sources (at the bottom). If you have multiple Focusrite or Novation Plug ins or plugins from any other brand we would recommend installing them all to the above directories for simplicity. .If they are all in different folders Ableton Live may not be able to locate them all without changing the Custom Folder. If there is anything after that like \Focusrite or \Steinberg just delete that from the end so you see the path above.
Please use the regular Program Files folder C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins and install only the 32-bit versions***
***Note that if you are using a 32bit version of Windows you will only have a Program Files folder and not Program Files(x86). Make sure it reads:Ĭ:\Program Files(x86)\VSTPlugins for 32-bit pluginsĬ:\Program Files\VSTPlugins for 64-bit plugins On the third screen in the installer you will see the path the files are being installed too. Run the installer file you have downloaded from our website here. To get your Focusrite/Novation plugins installed properly on your Windows computer please follow these steps. If you are having trouble with installing Plug Ins on a Mac please see this video.
